Marie-Christine Greenwood joined Europa School in April 2016 in the one and only move she considered from the corporate world to the education sector, as a result of a strong belief in the values of our School. She then obtained a Masters in Finance from Lancaster University and joined PwC in the UK where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

After almost ten years as an Auditor with PwC, Marie-Christine gained extensive financial experience in a number of roles with large French corporations, including as Asia-Pacific Controller with LVMH Moët-Hennessy Louis Vuitton and Group Financial Controller for the European leasing business of Société Générale.

Marie-Christine and her family have lived in Oxford for the past eleven years. Her British husband, Richard, is a Science Academic, who also teaches Chemistry to S6 and S7 students at Europa School. They have three children raised bilingual, including a daughter studying Chemistry at Oxford University, a daughter reading Classics at Cambridge University and a son in his last year of Primary school in central Oxford.

Since graduating in African Studies from the University of Birmingham, my career has taken me via a wide range of industries over three continents in companies big and small. As a business development director I have always been responsible for creating new teams or departments whilst setting up new business units, often as the only person responsible for human resources in the company. I have worked in educational publishing and cybersecurity amongst other things. Whilst my children were very small I was a self-employed payroll manager for local businesses and advised them on many aspects of taxation, legal requirements, apprenticeships and pensions.

Once my children joined Europa School I began volunteering on the PTA, first as vice-chair then chair, stepping down after a busy three years, to join the team at Europa.

No two days are the same in my role as HR Manager, I love recruiting great teachers and support staff who share our passion for this unique school as well supporting the existing staff in their many roles.
