Transition Arrangements

At Europa, the school year begins in September with a phased two-week introduction for all Reception children.

This approach has been proven to help children adapt gradually to our unique school environment, which includes an early start, a large campus, a longer school day, a cohort of ninety pupils, two teachers and two support staff per class, and a bilingual curriculum.

The phased start also enables teachers to complete the statutory baseline assessment in a timely and supportive manner.

Details are as follows: Thursday 4th September – Friday 11th September inclusive

Your child will be assigned to either Group A or B:

Week 1 (commencing Thursday 3rd September):

Morning group children will leave before lunch at 11.00am.
Afternoon group children will arrive after lunch at 12.45pm.

Week 2 (commencing Monday 7th September):
All children will stay for lunch and eat in the canteen.  You may choose either a school lunch  or a packed lunch, and you will be asked to inform us of your preference in advance.

Normal school hours commence Monday 14th September.

MyChildAtSchool (MCAS)

This is the parent portal we use to communicate with parents.  This platform can be accessed via desktop or by downloading the MCAS app.  Each adult with parental responsibility will have their own account.  It is vital that you activate your account and check that we hold the correct details for both you and your child.

What to do:

  1. Activate account – you will receive an email with your unique registration link  (please keep an eye on your junk folder as well as your inbox).  For security reasons, the link expires after 24 hours.  Please contact datamanager@europaschool.uk if no link is received or if it has expired.
  2. Download mobile app – download the MCAS app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and login. Please enable push notifications to ensure you receive important updates from us.
  3. Check pupil profile – check that your child’s profile and your own personal details are correct.  Please ensure the parental consents are completed prior to your child starting school with us.

*Current Europa parents – if you already have a child on roll at Europa, all pupil profiles will be displayed on the same account.  You will not receive a new link as there is no need to re-register.  You should simply be able to switch between profiles at the top of the screen.

At Europa, we currently use MCAS for the following:

    • Data Collection: updating personal details for parents and pupils
    • Attendance: reporting/requesting absences
    • After School Activities: bookings and payments
  • School Trips: bookings and payments
  • Parental Consents: managing permissions for photos, trips etc
  • Reports: school reports for Primary pupils are published here
  • Timetables: Secondary pupils only
  • Academic calendar: term dates and events
  • Announcements/Messages: communicating with parents/carers
