Online Safety at Europa School
Increased online activity, while offering many benefits, also presents potential risks for children. It’s crucial to be aware of these risks and take proactive steps to ensure your child’s online safety. Increased screen time can heighten the risk of:
- Online bullying
- Abuse and grooming
- Exposure to inappropriate content
- Insufficient sleep or exercise
Protecting and supporting our young people.
Protecting our young people and supporting them to learn about technology and online content in the modern world is equally as important as it is it offline.
The National College produce a number of useful guides and resources for parents/carers to support them with understanding and managing their child’s online safety. A number of these can be found below. (please do keep checking back at these will be updated.)
We strongly recommend that parents/carers set up parental controls on their child’s smartphones and internet enabled devices to monitor their internet use and ensure they are being safe online. The NSPCC have a range of information and guides to support parents/carers setting up parental controls on their children’s devices including restricting access to certain apps and time-related access.

Most popular social media platforms have a minimum age requirement of 13 years old. This is because they need to comply with data privacy laws that require parental consent for collecting personal data from users under 13. Please do check each platform individually.
