On Saturday, 16th March, Mme Gaillard and Dr Havenstein had the privilege to both attend and present at the ALL Language World 2025 conference. This unique event brings together educators, linguists and advocates for the power of languages in a huge two-day event each year.
The ALL Language World conference provides an opportunity to link up with existing language partners, meet new ones and, crucially, boost teaching by allowing delegates from all over the UK to learn from one other, debate ideas and gain inspiration. It also includes a large and varied exhibition, ‘showcasing the latest in language learning resources and support’. Overall it comprises of 22 exhibition stands, 3 keynote Speakers, 78 successful submitted speaker sessions and 347 delegates.
Europa UK’s contribution to the topic of the conference was titled ‘Leading immersive language teaching in the UK: Weaving a new tapestry through leadership’. We made the case for multi-lingual, immersive education using Europa School UK as an example, showing the building blocks of such a school model.
Judith Rifeser, the President of ALL, in her Welcome address expressed the core of the passion we all share: ‘Every language we teach, every story we share, and every student we inspire, adds a new thread to the intricate fabric of our world. We are shaping global citizens and preparing them to navigate our beautiful, complex, breath-taking and challenging world’.
