This week we have launched the Primary Sponsored Reading Challenge. We are hoping to raise money to buy phonics and reading resources for the primary school, including books and playground resources. The children have been given a sheet (pdf also attached to this email) with a range of reading challenges to complete by Wednesday 5th March.

Please ask your relatives, friends and work colleagues to get involved in sponsoring your child. You can sponsor your child for any amount you choose, every amount helps (e.g. an amount per challenge or a set amount for completing it all). Sponsorship pages and donations

If you would like to share any photos of your child completing the challenges – these can be uploaded here: Europa Reading Challenge 2025

All of the children who complete the challenge, and return their sheet to their teacher by Wednesday 5th March will be put into a prize draw to win a variety of prizes. There will be four prize draws: one for Kiddylinguistics and Reception, one for years 1 and 2, one for years 3 and 4 and one for years 5 and 6. Three local book shops have kindly donated prizes to us. For each age group, we have a £15 voucher from Caper, Oxford, a book chosen by Mostly Books, Abingdon and a £5 voucher for Daunt Books, Oxford. More prizes will hopefully be announced soon!

Raffles will be drawn and prizes given out on World Book Day – Thursday 6th March. Your child will also receive their World Book Day voucher that week as well. Please try to support our local book shops when spending the vouchers. Caper, Mostly Books and Daunt Books all will be stocking the £1 World Book Day books and accept the vouchers.
