On Monday 27 th January in the Oxfordshire Schools Football cup home game ESUK U14 boys hosted
the Wallingford school. From the beginning it was clear that this would be a tough match. The
visitors’ best player managed to score very quickly in the 2 nd minute. Still under pressure our team
worked really hard to defend successfully and score from dangerous counter-attacks. In the 17 th
minute nice and quick passing got the ball to King who showed his excellent individual skills and
levelled the score with his fantastic shot. In the first half the ESUK team was playing very well,
defending hard and threatening with quick counters. Ty made some excellent saves. Just one minute
before half time the visitors scored an unfortunate goal using their physicality and pace. In the
second half the visitors kept pressing, and our younger and less experienced team started to get
tired. A physically demanding game took its toll and gaps in the defence started to show. With the
weather turning really bad the visiting team showed their overwhelming quality and strength and
eventually won 1:8. Well done to our team for their brave effort.
