To wrap up the semester, our S3 L3 Spanish class focused on developing students’ emotional awareness through the engaging group activity “La Telaraña” (The Spiderweb). This dynamic activity not only allowed students to review the first unit, “¿Qué define nuestras relaciones?” (What Defines Our Relationships?), but also provided an opportunity to reflect on their positive qualities and share them with their peers, strengthening class bonds and self-confidence.
Each student took turns describing their strengths in Spanish, reinforcing both their language skills and self-expression in a positive, supportive environment. This experience highlighted the importance of managing our emotions and using affirming language toward ourselves and others. As each student shared, a “spiderweb” was constructed between them, symbolising the connections within the group and fostering empathy and teamwork.
Students enjoyed the exercise immensely, finding it both entertaining and meaningful. “La Telaraña” helped build a supportive class atmosphere, as they practised empathy, self-awareness, and collaboration. We’re proud of the positive and respectful relationships our students are developing through activities like these.
