We were absolutely delighted to find out late last month that seven of our pupils had won full Goethe-Institut PASCH scholarships to live and study in Germany for three weeks in the summer with all their expenses including travel covered.

PASCH Goethe German language course scholarsFor these highly competitive and coveted places (open to S3 and S4), the students had to write a letter of application; a task which they mastered with great skill. Five of our students will go to Goslar and two of them to Hinterzarten in Germany. Once there, they will receive specialist German lessons, enjoy a regular leisure programme and go for exciting excursions.

This is a unique chance for them to take part in an intercultural exchange, one of the hallmarks of the PASCH initiative, and make new friendships across the world. Many congratulations go to these young people who grasped these opportunities so generously offered to them.

Our heartfelt thanks go to PASCH (and Simone Pfliegel as its Co-ordinator in Northwestern Europe for Schools), the Goethe-Institut and the German Federal Foreign Office. Their support of learners of German is truly outstanding.
