Theo’s Chopin performance video won one of the prizes in the Oxfordshire Young Musician of the Year Awards in the 16-20 year old category for his entry.

Theo’s write up about his performance:

“Chopin’s Fantaisie Impromptu, composed in 1834, is a much loved and well known solo piano piece. I chose to work on it with my piano teacher Helen Kadodwala because of its many complexities, including its really fast speed and 6:8 polyrhythm between the right and the left hands. There are some inevitable imperfections and a slight lack of fluidity in my performance. But although it is a very challenging piece I would definitely recommend that people try to learn it as it helps develop a number of piano technique skills and is a very gratifying experience overall.
