BACKGROUND INFORMATION FOR ALL SECONDARY POSTS
Europa School UK is unique as a UK state school in offering the European Schools’ curriculum and highly respected European Baccalaureate.
In September 2017 the school will open a complete Secondary School, offering immediately the European Baccalaureate to the former pupils of the European School Culham.
Opening in 2012, Europa has already grown to a full Primary School, also enlarging from two to three-form entry in 2015. The school has been consistently oversubscribed and plays a key role in offering a multilingual and multicultural education, with an emphasis also on science, well suited to the employment opportunities in Oxfordshire.
The centrepiece of the Secondary School will be the beautiful grade-II listed buildings of Culham College which has hosted a European School since 1978. Europa School inherits from its predecessor a history of preparing students for outstanding success at universities in the UK, throughout Europe and beyond.
The school is multilingual. History and Geography are generally taught in French and German, although some will be in English initially. Other subjects other than languages are taught in English.
Teachers should hold QTS from the UK or the equivalent from another EU state. Ideally language teachers would hold a teaching qualification from a country in which the language is officially spoken.
Applications will be considered as they arrive, so early application is recommended.
Please submit your application form to Desi Correia, PA to the Principal with as subject "Application & the name of the post" (e.g. Application Geography in English) please. Please use your name and subject for the name of the document, pdf format is appreciated.
Both full-time and part-time posts are avaiable and applications are considered from teachers who can combine subjects. Unless otherwise stated, the posts are permanent, subject to an initial probationary period. The salaries are based on the teachers pay-scale.
Prior experience of the European Baccalaureate is an asset, but application are welcome from all suitably qualified teachers willing to embrace and to work for the vision of our school. Syllabuses of the European Schools may be viewed here, where you can filter by subject and language.
