We are flexible as well, with 80% of our staff working part-time, we try and mostly succeed to fit the timetable around your needs, especially with lots of notice.

French KS1 Teacher - Full-Time

SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE

The teacher will be the class teacher in French in two classes following an immersion teaching model.  They will share teaching the whole curriculum with a partner teacher who will teach in English.  Each class will have 30 pupils, the reception class has 4 to 5 years old and many will be embarking on their first experience of French and some will have been speaking French since their first words.  Year 1 follows the same pattern and the children are 5 to 6 years old.  The week is split into two and you will swap classes on a Wednesday lunchtime. 

The classes will have all abilities and language levels including special education and health needs, both year groups are supported by a Teaching Assistant may have further specialist support as required by the class. 

You would join a multinational and multilingual community of staff, committed to the students and furthering the bilingual and broad curriculum ethos of our unique state school.

Europa is nestled in rural Oxfordshire but only 10 miles from central Oxford and less than 2.5 to Abingdon.

  • Start Date: 1st September 2024
  • Salary: MPS1 – UPS3 (£30,000 to £46,525 per annum pro rata)

Lunchtime Supervisors

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible lunchtime assistant for a term-time permanent position. The successful candidate will be a friendly and reliable team member with an interest in working with children in our busy school.

In addition, we will have some hours for 3 afternoons a week to support the Forest School Teacher.

  • Salary: £20,441 per annum FTE

Supply Teachers & Teaching Assistants

Supply Teaching Assistants

We are always looking to strengthen our vital bank of cover staff.  Supply TAs will support a teacher and also supervise the children in the playground and at lunch and also onto the buses. . You may be asked a few days before or get a call in the morning to ask if your are free.

Exam Invigilators

Exam Invigilators Job description Job description

We are expanding our current team of invigilators to assist the school with external and internal examinations.

We are looking for enthusiastic people who can demonstrate common sense, accuracy, attention to detail and are willing to provide the best exam experience possible for students.

You must be punctual, have a flexible attitude to work and possess excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English with legible handwriting as you will on occasion work as Readers and Scribes for the students.

Our Invigilators are responsible for ensuring that exams are run according to JCQ regulations and that all students are supervised and their individual needs catered for during each exam.

You should:

  • Be able to work effectively both on your own and within a team
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to offer a medium to long term commitment and flexibility in working hours and be available during the exams period which are  in mid December and most of May and June

Invigilators work on a casual basis and are asked for their availability prior to each examination period. There will be times throughout the academic year when there are no exams and no requirement for invigilators. Equally there will be very busy times during statutory examination periods.

This would be an ideal job for someone looking for part-time occasional work or for someone who is retired or semi- retired. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided for successful candidates, but applicants need to be reliable, punctual, highly flexible, calm under pressure and confident in dealing with teenagers. 

  • Pay: £12.46 ph

Volunteering opportunities

There are a number of volunteering opportunities at the school, for example in the classroom (reading, language support, career days). Parents help out on a regular basis, for example on school trips, during DIY days and with events.
